Chico came to see us home. We had fun, we talked about.
E 'was a great day.
I liked seeing him in action. Chico took many, many photos.
I was trying to figure out what "seeing", but more than anything else I've seen the world become "adatto" alle sue foto.
Chico ha un occhio pazzesco, velocissimo. Unico.
Ad un certo punto, mi fa: "Bello lì" e mi indica una pila di copertoni di camion, "prova ad andarci in cima". Io , all'inizio ho detto "No, dai..." ma poi ci sono salito.
A momenti mi ammazzo. I copertoni si sono mossi, ho inciampato e ho fatto un volo pazzesco.
Non cadevo per terra così da anni, forse decenni.
Ecco, lui è così: quando è in giro che fa foto, cioè sempre, ti mette in situazioni e storie in cui va a finire che perdi il tuo equilibrio e succedono-cose che poi diventano le sue foto.

4 minutes and 45 seconds to celebrate 5 years from the release of "Carta Stampata"



Un piccolo film - dura 4 minuti e 45 secondi - dove sfoglio, dalla prima all'ultima pagina, il libro.
Mi sembrava il modo migliore per celebrare cinque anni dall'uscita di "Carta Stampata"
il volume che raccoglie le mie fotografie scattate per i giornali dal 1974 al 2006.













Devo molto a questo libro, and still, after five years, it does not change a photo or a comma.
I like it.
I remember the - many - nights spent in the archives. I had put a cot IKEA in the studio, and when I'd had enough, at dawn, I pulled on a blanket.
Thanks to everyone, and there are many who have shared those moments with me and with their work and their valuable suggestions have made it what it is.
This anniversary is dedicated to them.

"Riders" magazine, February issue: The Norton Commando is back.







Faceva freschino l'altra notte, ma l'impavido Bergamaschi non si è fatto pregare e si è fatto diversi avanti-indietro in giro per le vie del centro a Milano per provare, e farmi fotografare, questa resuscitata Norton Commando .
La moto è bella, ben dotata, anche se un pò schizofrenica: sopratutto l'assetto, che, con pedane giustamente arretrate ma manubrio - troppo - rialzato risulta un pò ibrido.
Verrebbe da dire: Ma ci sei o ci fai?
